Sodexo Success at 2016 BIFM Awards

Two FM professionals from Sodexo Ireland were recognised at the annual BIFM Ireland Awards.

Bernie McManamon, general services manager at Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Terminal in Ballina, Co. Mayo won the FM Young Professional of the Year Award while Noel Cleary, project manager for PPP Schools, was highly commended in the FM Professional of the Year Award.

The awards were held on 25 November at BIFM Ireland’s FM Summit in Croke Park, Dublin.

Bernie McManamon holds an honours degree in Engineering from DIT and the CDP Diploma in Professional Engineering with Engineers Ireland. She joined Sodexo in June 2016, shortly after the company won the contract to deliver integrated facilities management services at Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Terminal.  Bernie is responsible for a team of eleven delivering catering, cleaning, horticultural services, pest control and facilities management.

Bernie has been very involved in Engineers Ireland Week for the past five years and has organised sessions with local schools to talk about her experience and promote engineering and FM as a career. She has spoken at the Young Engineers Society and has been a guest speaker at the Young European Engineering Conference.

Noel Cleary holds an honours degree in Construction Technology and Building Services Management and a Certified Diploma in Project Management.  He joined the company in 2011 as facilities and project manager on the Banagher College site in Offaly and is now project manager for the company’s ten PPP Schools in Ireland, covering counties Laois, Offaly, Limerick, Cork, Meath, Kildare and Wicklow.  Sodexo employs 120 staff delivering a range of facilities management services at each school.
