The Spirit of Sodexo Awards and Long Service Awards for 2023 shone a well-deserved spotlight on the company’s employees on the island of Ireland with accolades in several categories. These award ceremonies are the highlight of the company calendar and took place over two days in Liverpool, with a combined total of 700 people in attendance from all over Ireland and the UK.

At the Spirit of Sodexo Awards, guest hosted by well-known broadcaster Vernon Kay, employees of the corporate services division in Ireland won the Spirit of Sodexo: Positive Impact Award. It was presented for their work in supporting local community projects and the company’s charity partners, including A Lust for Life, Open Doors and Focus Ireland, with the division having greatly surpassed their fundraising and volunteering targets for the year.

Employee Alexandra McDougall, based in Northern Ireland, scooped the Spirit of Progress: Living our Values Award. Alexandra was recognised as a shining example in respect of her work ethic, her support to co-workers and her drive for excellence in health and safety.
 

The Long Service Awards recognises employees with more than two decades of service and with 40 years to her name, Pamela Porter, who is a Service Excellence Manager for Sodexo in Northern Ireland, topped the list of 19 long-serving employees on the island of Ireland in 2023. They joined other colleagues from across the region for a celebration that included sightseeing and a gala dinner with Sean Haley, CEO of Sodexo UK and Ireland.
