319 Sodexo employees have been recognised for their long service, totalling more than 7,500 years, at a ceremony in Liverpool.

Sodexo employees with either 20, 30, 40 and in some cases 50 years’ service were recognised for their commitment and loyalty on 11 December 2019.

Sean Haley, Regional Chair, Sodexo UK & Ireland said:

Our people are vital to the success of our business and I am humbled by the loyalty and hard work of everyone celebrating a work anniversary at our 2019 Long Service Awards in Liverpool.

Their dedication has been central to helping Sodexo grow over the years and they fully deserve recognition for their work in improving the quality of life for our employees, our clients and the communities we serve.

Tommy Weldridge was recognised for 50 years’ service, having started out at Wythenshawe Hospital as a General Porter in 1969, and was commended for his excellent customer service.

Tommy has seen many changes during his time working in all areas of portering, having begun his career in an era where wearing a long coat was believed to stop the spread of infection.

The award recipients enjoyed a lunch and presentation at St. George’s Hall, followed by a tour of various sites across the city before an evening meal, drinks and live music at the ACC Liverpool.
