We work with over 80 schools, including some of the most country’s most prestigious, serving pupils from the ages of 3 to 18. Our focus is on delivering quality food services, hospitality and facilities management services, all designed to improve quality of life for pupils, teaching staff and the wider school community.

Independents by Sodexo has a ‘fresh food from scratch’ ethos. This means we use seasonal and fresh ingredients from British and Irish farms in order to serve creative, healthy and delicious meals. We support our catering offer with a whole range of extra services, including a sustainable food partnership with the WWF, visits from celebrity chefs such as James Tanner and live cookery demonstrations.

As part of our catering offer, we prepare up to 750 meals a day for the students and to the community of priests working and living at the College, manage vending and provide the hospitality for sports days, celebrations and events throughout the year.

In the UK and Ireland, Sodexo have introduced ground-breaking initiatives in schools such as Green & Lean and teamed up with WWF, the Food Foundation and a number of partners to work towards this commitment and target.

Resolving conflicts

Restorative Justice is an established, effective way of challenging offenders and enabling victims to get the answers they need to move forward. A victim of crime and a perpetrator meet in a face to face conference led by a trained facilitator. HMP Peterborough have been awarded the Restorative Service Quality Mark in recognition of how they apply this approach.

Community rehabilitation

When offenders re-enter communities, public safety is paramount. It takes effective offender management and rehabilitation services. Sodexo Justice took ownership of six Community Rehabilitation Companies (CRCs) in February 2015. Working in partnership, we’re reducing re-offending and changing lives for the better.
