Sodexo Prestige in Scotland has recorded a big rise in bookings for Christmas parties this year with businesses and groups of employees deciding to spend money again on a festive party.

Sodexo Prestige in Scotland provides catering at 17 venues across Scotland. Hampden Park, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Aberdeen Football Club, the Edinburgh Corn Exchange and Hamilton Park and Perth racecourses are all holding Christmas parties and the average rise in bookings across these venues is 46%.

Sodexo Prestige in Scotland regional director Austin Tilsley, said: “It is very encouraging to see the Christmas party night business growing again. We are seeing that companies are once again booking Christmas parties to say thank-you to staff for their efforts during these very tough economic conditions.

“We are also noticing this year that more individual groups of staff seem to be determined not to miss out on a festive party, which is why more of them are booking their own office lunch or dinner. Our success this year is a testament to the hard work of our staff who have created Christmas packages that customers are obviously finding attractive.”

Christmas party bookings at Hampden Park in Glasgow are running ahead of last year with a return of larger bookings of more than 100 people as companies are digging deep to take the whole office out. The national stadium is offering Hollywood and 70’s themed nights and is working with DJs from Real Radio for the first time.

The Corn Exchange in Edinburgh has also seen significant rises in Christmas party sales. Christmas party bookings at Aberdeen Football Club are up on last year, with more smaller, private parties being booked for groups of 60 to 90 people.

The largest increase in a Sodexo Prestige venue has been at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh (RBGE), where bookings have more than doubled this year. Although RBGE is reporting more Christmas parties than ever, only one of them is being paid for by a company, with the rest being booked by groups of staff. Smaller groups of up to 25 people from large blue chip companies in Edinburgh are also booking their own Christmas lunches.
