Workplace services provider Sodexo Ireland has confirmed a new minimum rate of pay for its security officers in line with the proposed Employment Regulation Order (ERO) for contract security. The proposed ERO was recently halted by a High Court injunction and is now the subject of a judicial review in November 2022.

David Fox, managing director, Sodexo Ireland said;

The new minimum rate of pay will not be affected by the outcome of the judicial review.  We have decided to implement it as a mark of our appreciation of the commitment and dedication of our security employees to the company here in Ireland.

Effective from 29th August 2022, Sodexo’s increased minimum rate of pay for security officers is €12.50 per hour. It currently employs 100 security personnel based on client sites throughout Ireland.

Sodexo Ireland, which employs 2,500 people on the island of Ireland, delivers a suite of workplace services to clients in business and industry, education, financial, pharma and healthcare. Those include workplace transformation to improve employee experience, food services, facilities management, including security, and estate management.
