Sodexo Ireland has been presented with the National Standards Authority of Ireland Excellence Through People accreditation.

The award recognises the achievement of world class standards in human resources management, and was presented on 14 May at a ceremony in Dublin organised by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) – the country’s official standards body.

Sodexo Ireland is a leading provider of food and facilities management services, delivering on-site service solutions to clients in business and industry, education, financial services and healthcare. It employs approximately 1,800 in 200 locations across Ireland, serving 90,000 daily and spends almost €19 million annually on local Irish food.

Niamh Cray, human resources manager for Sodexo Ireland, said: “Despite the downturn, employee engagement is a major priority for many of our global clients as it is for ourselves. We assist our clients with their employee engagement policies by providing a broad range of services on-site to maintain and improve the quality of their working life. Motivated and engaged employees help us to deliver the best standards of service possible. It would be impossible to do so otherwise so we invest and engage with our people through training and development and we are very committed to promoting from within.”

John Perry TD, Minister of State at the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: “Finding a competitive advantage is crucial for businesses both at home and abroad and the impressive organisations here today show that companies believe that standards really do give their business that advantage.  Companies are investing in standards because they can see the return on investment and are seeing the benefits.  Standards can open up doors to new opportunities for business and in and many cases these companies present today have already seen this and are representing Ireland on the international stage.”
