Sodexo, a leading provider of on-site service solutions, will be launching its first Sodexo Women in Security group next month on Thursday 11 October 2012 at Sodexo’s UK and Ireland headquarters in Holborn, London.

The objective of the new group will be to promote personal and professional development opportunities for current female security officers, helping to increase their confidence, awareness and skills, whilst inspiring others to consider a career in the security industry.

Sodexo aims to increase the female population within its security workforce, SECURE, from 10.5% to 12% in 2012, and increase this further still in 2015, aiming to reach 15%.

Jane Farell, development manager for SECURE by Sodexo, said: “We’re moving in the right direction and so far, we have made great positive strides.

“We wish to reach out to as many female employees within our security business as possible as well as inspiring those who are considering a career within the industry. We hope by enabling employees to network and share ideas and best practice in a dedicated forum will increase interest and encourage many more women to start a career in security services.”

During the ASIS Europe conference earlier in the year, Sodexo’s Centre of Excellence director, Kathy Ridgard was presented with the prestigious Women in Security award as recognition for her services to the industry, which helped catapult SECURE as one of the leading security services within the sector.
