Sodexo is pleased to announce its first third level IFM (integrated facilities management) contract in Ireland in respect of the new €220 million Central and East Quads about to be built on the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) Campus at Grangegorman. The IFM contract is the first of its kind for an Irish university.

Once the Quads are completed and ready for use, Sodexo will be managing and delivering all facilities management services, including cleaning, waste management, building and engineering maintenance, caretaking, security, utilities and energy management, landscaping and lifecycle management. The first building is due to open in 2020.

Sodexo already delivers full IFM services at ten PPP second level schools throughout Ireland in addition to catering services at Trinity College Dublin and NUI Galway.

In the UK, Sodexo provides catering, FM and accommodation services at several well-known universities, including University College London, University of Greenwich, University of Nottingham and Northumbria University, Newcastle. In total Sodexo works with 30 higher education institutions on 50 sites across Ireland and the UK and manages 10,000 student beds.

In two years’ time, it is anticipated that over 10,000 students and 600 members of staff will be based on the campus in Dublin’s north inner city.

Deirdre Saunders, account director, Schools and Universities, Sodexo Ireland said; “We are very proud to be a part of this landmark educational project for Dublin. It’s our first full integrated facilities management contract for the university sector in Ireland. There is enormous potential for us to support DIT Grangegorman in its strategic objectives, particularly around improving its physical environment and optimising the use of space to meet the changing needs of students, faculty and staff.  It is a truly fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the full scope and scale of our capabilities in integrated facilities management, as well as our student experience expertise.”
