Sodexo and its client, University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust celebrated two wins on Wednesday evening (1 Nov) at the annual PFM awards held at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London.
The partnership between Sodexo and its client, University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, won the Partners in Healthcare category which was followed by Sodexo’s permit controller at Royal Stoke University Hospital (part of UHNM) Jonathan Beardmore announced as Partnership Team Member of the Year, an award which recognises an individual’s exceptional contribution to the success of a partnership.
The Trust (UHNM) was created in 2014 with the merger of the former University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust (UHNS) and Mid- Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust (MSFT). It serves around three million people across Staffordshire and North Wales, and is one of the largest hospital Trusts in the country with a large Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract and a complex mix of in-house and out-sourced estates and facilities services.
UHNM’s in-house estates and facilities team work in partnership with Sodexo, which is responsible for the soft FM services throughout the PFI and retained estate and hard FM services to the PFI.
Sodexo’s 1,000-strong on-site team deliver a range of services from patient and visitor catering; cleaning and infection prevention; security; portering; helpdesk; reception; waste; maintenance; utilities; and lifecycle management.

Sodexo’s business director for its contract with UHNM was a finalist in the Account Director of the year category and Sodexo with its client, Santander, was also shortlisted in the Partners in Corporate (private sector) category.
