Sodexo is proud to announce its support of Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day as one of the many call centres across the UK handling donation calls from the public on Friday 13 March

Between 6:30pm and midnight the team of 119 volunteers including Sodexo employees, their friends and families will handle calls from the public wishing to donate through its helpdesk centre based in Leeds.

Lucy Harris, Sodexo’s head of helpdesk services and her team have been busy preparing for Friday to ensure that everything is in place once the phone lines open on Friday. The helpdesk team are experienced in handling calls for various Sodexo clients and customers for which it provides a helpdesk service, and for those volunteering with little or no experience comprehensive training will be given to ensure that the Sodexo team deliver a high standard of service for those calling in wishing to donate.

In keeping with this year’s them the team of volunteers will be ‘making their faces funny for money’, games and competitions will be held throughout the evening and the office will be transformed with a ‘fright night’ theme to reflect the Friday 13th date.

Lucy Harris, head of helpdesk services at Sodexo said, “We are thrilled to have been selected as one of the call centres for this year’s Red Nose Day. This will be our third year supporting Comic Relief; in 2013 we handled some 1,827 calls, processed 1,650 donations which all equated to £47,080 in donations.”

Sodexo’s helpdesk team handles over 700,000 maintenance requests every year from its clients’ employees and customers based at thousands of properties across the UK.
As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Red Nose Day raises money to help people living unimaginably tough lives, both at home in the UK and Africa. For more information check out http://www.rednoseday.com/
