The business development director for Sodexo in Ireland walked away from the inaugural Women in Sales awards with a top prize.

Margaret Clapham won Best Women Sales Director at the event held at the Savoy in London on Tuesday 3 December. Other finalists in the category were from Telefonica O2; Google; Thomson Reuters; Yahoo; Sanitas; Arteel and Kenexa.

Margaret has been with Sodexo, the world’s leading services company, for over nine years. The Women in Sales Awards is designed to find and recognise the most exemplary women in sales across Europe. Margaret’s success has seen her personally generate new business for Sodexo in excess of €12m and under her direction the business development team in Ireland significantly over-achieved its business growth targets.

Sodexo has been providing quality of life services such as catering, cleaning, security, mailroom, gymnasium management and reception since 1948. Its broad client base ranges across sectors including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, banking and insurance to information technology, alongside private schools, institutes and healthcare.

Margot Slattery, managing director for Sodexo in Ireland said: “We are thrilled that Margaret has received this accolade, it is well deserved and we are all very proud of her achievement.
