Sodexo, one of the UK’s leading providers of on-site service solutions, has completed work on redesigning the main entrance roundabout at Stoke Mandeville Hospital transforming it to reflect the Hospital’s prestigious history and link with the upcoming Paralympic Games.

Sodexo and its partners Enterprise Healthcare are jointly sponsoring the redesign with Sodexo’s horticultural  services team undertaking the work. The new-look roundabout will provide the Hospital with a lasting legacy to its fame as the birthplace of the Stoke Mandeville Games, the inspiration for the modern Paralympic Games.

The roundabout will be split into four sections, with each section reflecting one of four values, courage, determination, inspiration and equality. A standing stone engraved with each value will be the focus of each section and to distinguish the different sections varying colours of junipers and slate chippings.

Mike Dyer, business director at Sodexo Healthcare says; “We are delighted to be able to create a lasting tribute to the Hospital’s prestigious history. 2012 is an exciting year and the redesign of the roundabout will ensure that the Hospital’s reputation as the inspiration for the Paralympic is set in stone.”

Sodexo has been providing patient, staff and visitor catering as well as facilities management services since 2005.
